PokeScope (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website and mobile application.
Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of information:
- Usage Data: Information about how you interact with our services, including search queries, cards viewed, and features used.
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
- Camera and Card Images: The card scanner identifies cards on your device. While the app's “Help improve the scanner” setting is on (it is on by default and can be turned off in settings), the app may send us cropped images of scanned cards, not linked to you, so we can improve card recognition. - Email Address: Only if you sign up for our emails or price alerts (see below).
- Analytics Data: We use analytics tools to understand how users interact with our services to improve functionality.
Email Updates and Price Alerts
You can sign up for the PokeScope Market Report (a weekly summary of card price changes and new sets), new set announcements, and price alerts for cards you choose. These emails are optional and only sent if you ask for them.
- What we collect: your email address, the emails you chose (and the cards for price alerts), the page where you signed up, the consent wording you agreed to, and when you signed up, confirmed and unsubscribed. We may ask your year of birth to check that you are 13 or older; we don't store it.
- Confirmation first: we send one email asking you to confirm and send nothing else until you do. Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted within 30 days.
- How we use it: only to send the emails you asked for. We never sell your email address or share it with others for their marketing.
- Who sends them: our emails are sent by Resend, which stores your email address and delivery information on our behalf. A backup of the list is kept in private Cloudflare storage.
- Unsubscribing: every email has an unsubscribe link, and it works immediately. You can also email [email protected].
- How long we keep it: while you're subscribed. After you unsubscribe, we keep your address with a record of your consent and unsubscribe so we never email you again by mistake. You can ask us to delete it entirely.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain our services
- Improve and personalize user experience
- Analyze usage patterns and optimize performance
- Send technical notices and support messages
- Respond to user inquiries and provide customer support
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
Third-Party Services
Our services may contain links to third-party websites or services (such as TCGPlayer and CardMarket). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies. We use Resend to send our emails and Cloudflare for hosting, security and storage; they process data only on our behalf.
Children's Privacy
Our services are not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and email sign-ups from people who tell us they are under 13 are refused and not stored. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information
- Opt-out of certain data collection practices
